Block Retaining Walls

Modern concrete block walls are systems developed for strength and easy assembly. They are designed to be set on a compacted gravel base, which allows them to flex slightly and still remain strong. A block retaining wall may also serve as an emphasis wall or center of attention. Block walls can also be used underneath a patio to raise it above ground level, or to turn a sloped exterior space into a flat, more useable space. Retaining walls prevent erosion and provide for vertical or near-vertical grade changes. The size and setup will, therefore, be mostly contingent on the slope and level of the ground, and will be built where the soil needs to be stopped from runoff.
